GOOGLE vs BING vs YAHOO: 2 is not yet better than the other?

While it appears that the Internet search argument was won decisively by Google, rivals Yahoo and Microsoft haven't given up yet. The two companies formed an alliance in 2009 that will result in Microsoft's Bing search engine powering Yahoo's portal by the end of 2010.

Google embraces the elegant simplicity of a white background and the Google Search text field. Blue links to key Google features in the upper left corner make checking e-mail a snap. The Yahoo home page is considerably busier. This reflects the company's desire to be not just a search engine, but a starting point for Internet surfing. Its scatter shot approach features search, news, communications tools, and such specifics as a horoscope. While Bing's front page is distinctly flashy. Nevertheless, navigation for specialized search is easy to find. Bing’s front door also includes plenty of shortcuts to other Microsoft-owned Web destinations such as MSN, Windows Live, and Bing Travel. It would be nice to see a shortcut to my Microsoft-managed inbox.

Search results for Bing have two main components: a left-hand navigation panel of Quick Tabs that allow you to focus your search fast; and a center row of Categorized Search results, which simply group results in logical categories. Search results include instant answers, deep links, and multimedia. Google and Yahoo search results are delivered no-frills-style with blue links descending from most to least relevant. Both of these search engines deliver results that may include instant answers, deep links, and multimedia. 

But for me, Google is the best, probably because of all the other bits and pieces it has (GMail, Google Reader etc.), but Bing image search is nice, in that it doesn't need you to go to next page EVER, it just keeps adding pictures at bottom of page. Also, images get bigger on mouse over, and if you click an image, image results stay at side while the page is loaded, so you can click on next image without having to go back to search results. Still Google is better.

Let's Welcome the Internet Phenomena

Today, many of these internet phenomena are also spread via popular, user-based or social networking Web sites, including (but not limited to) 4chan, Reddit, Facebook, Fark, Flickr, Myspace, Slashdot, Something Awful, or YouTube. Search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing may also amplify the propagation of these phenomena.

Being specific here are some list of internet phenomena by its categories;

ANIMATION
  • Dancing baby – A 3D-rendered dancing baby that first appeared in 1996 by the creators of Character Studio for 3D Studio MAX, and became something of a late 1990s cultural icon in part due to its exposure on world wide commercials, editorials about Character Studio, and the popular television series Ally McBeal
  • Happy Tree Friends – A series of flash cartoons featuring cute cartoon animals experiencing violent and gruesome accidents.  
  • Weebl and Bob (UK: Wobble and Bob) - A series of flash cartoons created by Jonti Picking featuring two egg-shaped characters that like pie and speak in a virtually incoherent manner.  

ADVERTISING
  • Cooks Source infringement controversy — advertising-supported publication's dismissive response to copyright infringement complaint causes online backlash.
  • FreeCreditReport.com — series of TV commercials that were posted on the Internet; many spoofs of the commercials were made and posted on YouTube.
  • Lowermybills.com — Banner ads from this mortgage company feature endless loops of cowboys, women, aliens, and office workers dancing.
  • Embrace Life — a public service announcement for seatbelt advocacy made for a local area of the UK which achieved a million hits on its first two weeks on YouTube in 2010.
  • Shake Weight - Infomercial clips of the modified dumbbell have gone viral as a result of the product's comically sexual suggestive nature.
  • The Man Your Man Could Smell Like — A television commercial starring Isaiah Mustafa reciting a quick, deadpan monologue while shirtless about how "anything is possible" if men use Old Spice. It eventually led to a popular viral marketing campaign which had Mustafa responding to various Internet comments via short YouTube videos on Old Spice's YouTube channel.

EMAIL
  •  Bill Gates E-mail Beta Test – An e-mail chain-letter that first appeared in 1997 and was still circulating as recently as 2007. The message claims that America Online and Microsoft are conducting a beta test and for each person you forward the e-mail to, you will receive a payment from Bill Gates of more than $200. Realistic contact information for a lawyer appears in the message.
  • Mouse Ball Replacement Memo – A memorandum circulated to IBM field service technicians detailing the proper procedures for replacing mouse balls, yet filled with a number of sexual innuendos. The memo actually was written by someone at IBM and distributed to technicians, but it was distributed as a corporate in-joke, and not as an actual policy or procedure. On the Internet, the memo can be traced as far back as 1989
  • Goodtimes virus – An infamous, fraudulent virus warning that first appeared in 1994. The e-mail claimed that an e-mail virus with the subject line "Good Times" was spreading, which would "send your CPU into an nth-complexity infinite binary loop", among other dire predictions.
  • ILOVEYOU, also known as LoveLetter, is a computer worm that successfully attacked tens of millions of Windows computers in 2000 when it was sent as an attachment to an email message with the text "ILOVEYOU" in the subject line. The worm arrived in email inboxes on and after May 4, 2000 with the simple subject of "ILOVEYOU" and an attachment "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs". The final 'vbs' extension was hidden by default, leading unsuspecting users to think it was a mere text file. Upon opening the attachment, the worm sent a copy of itself to everyone in the Windows Address Book and with the user's sender address. It also made a number of malicious changes to the user's system.

Instead of Counter Strike, It must be a Browser Strike; A Browser Death Match

 As we all know that Netscape is the second company to attempt to capitalize over the World Wide Web. It was once dominant in terms of usage share, but lost most of that share to Internet Explorer during the first browser war. By the end of 2006, the usage share of Netscape browsers had fallen, from over 90% in the mid 1990s, to less than 1%. Netscape developed the Secure Sockets Layer Protocol (SSL) for securing online communication, which is still widely used, as well as JavaScript, the most widely-used language for client-side scripting of web pages.
We all think that the death of the Netscape on its war against the Microsoft's web browser, "Internet Explorer" was the end of the world wide web browser's war. But it's not, the lost of Netscape was the gateway for a big war against the newly existing internet browsers at this time. 

There are many web browsers attempting to destroy the camp of Microsoft on its Internet Explorer. There are Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and many more. They have stable releases that became popular on internet via computer or even in cellular phones. 

The question is, what are their edge against their competitors? Is it their add-ons applications? Is it their speed capacity? We must compare them to each other so that we can distinguish how useful are they?

Let's first see Microsoft's Internet Explorer
Microsoft took five years sacrifices to bury Netscape under the ground. During their domination, The IE team went back to the drawing board and totally reworked the browser's rendering engine, also adding tabbed browsing and add-ons to the mix, and then finished it off with a facelift. That is their stable release the Internet Explorer 7.
After 7, it should be 8 of course! So Microsoft released the Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 that's because Microsoft is putting a much greater focus on becoming web standards-compliant.

The Firefox
Enough so that when Mozilla announced it would be releasing Firefox 3, end users lined up to download the new version that time, promptly setting a Guinness World Record for most number of software downloads in 24 hours. And rightly so. Better memory management, improved security, an aptly named AwesomeBar, and several other improvements made the best browser on the market even better. 
In line with the war, they released Mozilla Firefox 3.1 beta 2.Initially intended as a 'fast-track' update to Firefox 3.0, lingering bugs in 3.1's new JavaScript engine, called TraceMonkey, likely means IE8 will ship first. And that's okay with Mozilla, who contends that its much more concerned with getting the new browser right than it is with beating Microsoft to the punch.
Opera
Diehard Opera fans might take exception to referring to Opera as an alternative browser, and with the release of 9.6, they have a point. Several speed enhancements made the already fast browser even snappier, but our favorite feature is the new magazine-style RSS feeds on its Opera 9.6 version. 
They will not let others win the war, so they released the Opera 10 Alpha. The only browser of the bunch to be in a pre-beta state, we include it here because it's one of the first browsers to fully comply with the Acid3 test with a 100 percent pass rate (Safari 4 being the other). If the new build can live up to its promise of a 30 percent performance boost, Opera may finally find its way onto more mainstream machines. 
Safari
Apple's DNA is evident in its Safari browser right from the get-go. Hardly surprising given that it began life on the Mac OS X operating system in early 2003. In the summer of 2007, Safari shed its Mac-only shackles and surfed over to Windows with claims of performing up to twice as fast as the competition. Soon to be old news, Apple is gearing up to replace Safari 3 with a significantly faster fourth version. 
Safari must looked high with its recently released version, new Safari 4 browser is up to 4 times faster than the previous version, and according to its own testing, it destroys the competition when it comes to JavaScript performance. A redesigned UI and a smorgasbord of added features makes Safari 4 Apple's most ambitious browser to date. 
Google Chrome 1.0
This is the new character on the war. When Google surprised everyone when its Chrome browser showed up on the web unannounced, and while there's clearly much work to be done, it's hard not to get excited over better tab management. Chrome treats each tab as its own process, so if there's a bug in a website's code that causes a crash, you only lose a single tab and not the entire browser.

A searchable database of the newest sites. Continuously updated links plus descriptions of new web sites. Users who subscribe to "WhatsNU" get notified of sites that interest them.

Programming Languages

As we all know, programming language is a vocabulary and set of grammatical rules for instructing a computer to perform specific tasks. Let us be familiarize with some computer programming languages aside from those programming languages that are familiar.

There are thousands of programming languages and new ones are created every year. Few languages ever become sufficiently popular that they are used by more than a few people, but professional programmers can easily use dozens of different languages during their career.

There are more programming languages that are not shown here in the table. Some of the stated programming languages are already obsolete. Being an information technology student, we must be familiarize with some programming language so that we can learn more, it is not good that we stick to one programming language only. Our ability to solve problems will not be enhanced.
